A web proxy provides a cache of Web pages and files. When it receives a request for a web page, it looks for that web page in it’s cache. Otherwise, it gets the web page, returns it the proxy user and saves a copy in the cache.
Our web site is about CGI proxies. A CGi proxy is a website, with a form, that allows any user to access a different web site, by inserting that site’s url in that form. The user’s own IP address is hidden from the web sites they access.
You just visit the proxy’s homepage in a Web browser and enter a URL in the form provided. You don’t need to download or install software or reconfigure your computer.
Here’s a list of a few scripts that will allow you to install a cgi proxy on your website:
(a) privoxy
(b) cgiproxy
(c) phproxy
